Jean-Paul’s insurance experience began in 1978 while working with his father in a brokerage which had been started by his grandfather in 1947.

Through many years, Jean-Paul worked in both Personal and Commercial lines and being a strong advocate of insurance industry education, achieved the Associate of the Insurance Institute of New Brunswick designation, the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 1983 the Canadian Chartered Insurance Broker (CCIB) designation in 1987.

Over the years, Jean-Paul has been very involved in the insurance industry, beginning in 1983 as a member of the board of the Insurance Broker’s Association of New Brunswick (IBANB). He then became President of the IBANB in 1988. In 1989, JP was elected as Co-Chairman of professional development at the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC).

Jean-Paul has also been very active in his community: past  board member and treasurer of the Pointe-du-Chêne Harbour Authority and the Pointe-du-Chêne Yacht Club;  past board member and training officer of the Shediac Power and Sail Squadron; and past president of the Cap Bimet Resident’s Association.

Jean-Paul joined Goguen Champlain as a partner in 2008 and is currenlty Vice President of Operations, NB for Assurance Goguen Champlain Insurance, part of Arthur J Gallagher Canada Ltd.

In his spare time, Jean-Paul enjoys time with family and friends. Spending time with his children is a privilege and a joy for him. He also has a passion for sailing and music.
